Mario Perera, the Executive Chef at The Dorchester has collaborated with Paul Sagoo, Chairman of luxury events agency Refine Events to bring guests The Asian Events Experience.
Using flavours from Mario's home country of Sri Lanka and taking inspiration from Indian and Southeast Asian cuisine, the duo has created a bespoke banqueting experience for the Asian community in the UK. Unique to The Dorchester and built around the client's specific wants and needs, the experience includes everything from the event space hire and dining, to drinks and entertainment for the event.
Guests will work with the team from the very start to plan their event, beginning with a menu tasting at the Chef's Table - a private dining room with a unique view into the heart of The Dorchester kitchens. Here they will map out their menu, choosing from a selection of delicious canapés such as Blue lobster lentil vada with green coconut chutney or Portland diver scallops with an almond truffle masala. There is also the option to have live cooking stations of Papdi chaat or Mini dosas. From there, the starter, main course and desserts are selected. Highlight dishes include Slow-cooked Rhug Estate venison masala ravioli, almond korma, Swiss chard, cardamom jus, pear chutney and hazelnuts; Artichoke and paneer Wellington, roasted red pepper Shimla makhani, fried okra and Flaming Indian spiced crème brûlée, apple compote with cinnamon ice cream.
Executive chef, Mario Perera, commented, ‘We are so looking forward to welcoming guests to these spectacular Asian events at The Dorchester. It has been a pleasure working with Paul and the Refine team to ensure we have a show stopping offering, from the authentic cuisine showcased in our extensive menus to every detail throughout each entirely bespoke event.’

As well as the food and drink, the rest of the experience will also be organised and executed together by The Dorchester and Refine teams. The event will include full room hire until 2am, an expert Dorchester banqueting service team, and bespoke setup with optional dancefloor or staging. There is also the option to add on bespoke theming packages, full staging audio and visual set ups, sound packages with after-party DJ, professional photographer or videographer and all types of other entertainment.

He’s also the founder of the British Science Awards, which take place in London to honour the very best British Scientists plus the managing partner and event producer for the British Photography awards. Paul speaks on a number of interest areas such as Asian business, entrepreneurship, motivation and corporate development. Abby has collated over twenty years of experience within Marketing and Management Consulting. She is the Managing Director of Arc Management Consulting Limited, based in London and Paris. Working with luxury brands globally and in the UK, her network is extensive across various industries and platforms. Abby has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the luxury sector. She strives to achieve brand growth, as well as developing new strategies and marketing direction.
